Python 3.8 exception when starting debugging

After upgrading to Python 3.8 on Mac I always get the following exception when debugger starts:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 25, in <module>
NameError: name 'raw_input' is not defined
python-BaseException

There was no such issue with Python 3.6 or Python 3.7.

Have anyone else experienced such problem?

Hi,

How is it related to PyCharm?
Most likely you will get the same error if you run your code from the system terminal using the same interpreter.

Or does it happen only when you debug and not when you run?

Yes, exactly. When I run there is no such effect, only on debug, so I would say it is Pycharm specific.

I checked it with new PyCharm project and this issue does not occur with debugging there, so something else is related. But by any chance, would you have an idea what can be the issue, because the error message is a bit cryptic?

How does it go if you configure a new interpreter for that project?

This way we can check if the problem relates to the interpreter or to the project itself.
