Kill Ring
Answered
I was able to find how to do basic kill and yank with the kill ring, but there doesn't seem to be a meta-y (next in kill ring). This is what makes the kill ring so useful. I looked everywhere for it. Am I missing something? Thanks -- Jon

Hi Jon - the action is called "Paste from History" in the IDE, you can check the default shortcut for it on the File | Settings | Keymap page if you choose the Emacs scheme.
Thank you so much. I have really missed this feature for years.
Sorry to reopen this thread, but I can't get a short cut to work with the kill ring, Option - Y is assigned, but it just gives alternate character. I tried to change it to Control - Command - Y as it was free, but it doesn't work, the only way to get paste from history is to pull it out of the edit menu, Is there a way to fix this at all, coming from emacs, I kind of rely on the kill ring feature.
Intelligent Function where do you try to paste from history, in the editor or in other dialogs? Did you try any other shortcuts, do they also fail?
I have the same problem option or meta (option) y does not work. When I type in meta y I get ¥ even though it is bound correctly to it in preferences (that is bound to paste from history)
My solution was to bind it to ctrl meta y. this works.
What is wrong with meta (option) y? Why does this not work?
