"Processing Left Revision" Dialog

I don't recall previous releases popping up this annoying dialog with "Processing Left Revision" and "Processing Right Revision". It used to do the indexing without annoying me with pop-ups. Is there a setting to fix this?

Please report at https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/newIssue?project=IDEA with the screenshot and the logs attached (Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data). Provide the steps to reproduce the issue.

It has something to do with the local history.

See if deleting idea.system.path helps (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544519).

After brand new install of 2020.3 seeing the same. Happens too fast to screenshot. No idea how to reproduce other than just switching between files.

Andrew Somerville You can record a screencast to capture the dialog and attach it to newly created issue on YouTrack.

We appreciate your help troubleshooting that.

This happened to me when the were version control diff windows open.

After closing the windows the dialog stopped showing

This happened to me when I had previously opened a "Local History" window, but then clicked back to the IDE editor. On Mac, using Ultimate 2019.2, the "Window" menu doesn't list the local history window, but I can still 3-finger swipe up and see it.

Closing this made the "Processing Left Revision" stop showing up.
