IDEA Running Slow on Debian Buster Laptop
Hello,
I searched for this problem and found a long thread where a report and logs were requested for this problem, I use IDEA for working on about 3 of my own personal computers, 2 are windows desktops and I have several laptops running Debian Buster of varying speeds. When it ran slow as molasses on my slow laptop, I simply understand, that laptop barely runs anything. However my dev laptop is a moderately stable system, until I launch IDEA. It ran fine the other day, but I left it open at my workstation and when I returned, no kidding, It took 5 minutes to move my text cursor up a few lines with arrow key, selecting text or scrolling became nearly impossible (again only in IDEA, before closing other apps, I found them still responsive).
This does not happen on either of my desktops, but they run windows 10 and this dev laptop can definitely run a basic IDEA instance, though I would never start two at once. I find the indexing and autocomplete, which is so helpful in windows, to drag me to a halt in my debian IDEA install.
I dont need a miracle, but I'd like to use IDEA on at least my most powerful laptop, and would love to troubleshoot this issue with support. The other post I found on this topic, started a long thread arguing over the validity of requesting logs and reports. I'm not going to do that, please let me know any information you require and I shall try in earnest to provide it. Might have to tell me where to find it as menu navigation is also very slow at times. I am on IDEA Ultimate, latest version, I'm updating as I type this because the balloon just popped up. Its running moderately ok right now but I just started it.
Thank you.

First of all, disable all custom plugins (as they could cause performance problems).
If it does not help, please quit IntelliJ IDEA, clean logs folder, reproduce the issue and share the complete logs folder compressed including ThreadDump directory.
If possible, also capture CPU snapshot according to this article
