cannot create new project

Answered

I just installed Datagrip 2021.1 RC and found that i'm not able to create a new project for some reason. I can enter a project name, but when i click ok nothing happens. Is this a bug or a configuration issue? In the past with 2020.x creating new projects worked.

Kind Regards

Andreas

please reproduce the issue and upload logs from help -> collect logs and diagnostic data to our upload service

and provide us with upload id.

The upload id is

Upload id: 2021_03_31_bXUmvEXK47RvWWnG (file: datagrip-logs-20210331-130604.zip)

i have deleted the old logs before i started Datagrip so that they contains only the latest stuff.

What i also have seen is, that the problem only occurs in my development VM and not on my Laptop. As i had proxy issues with Jetbrains IDE's in the past relating to my internet connection at work maybe there is a cause. I took a short look at the logs and did see connection refused messages.

Do you experience the issue with DataGrip 2021.1 Release too?

I can confirm the problem with DataGrip Release 2021.1 (also only in my development VM).

Andreas Seibt,

I didn't find any exceptions in the log files and can't reproduce the issue.
Could you try to restart PC and try to create a project again?

I've just resolved the issue myself. I remembered that i had the same question some time ago. The problem is, that i had configured a non existing default project directory in the settings (Appearance & Behavior / System settings):

This came because i copied  the settiings from another installation. Why does the IDE doesn't warn in such cases? If i remember, there was an issue filed for this in Youtrack. It would be nice, if you could give it a higher priority.

Kind Regards

Andreas
