Cannot connect to postgres instance after inital connection database was deleted
Hello Data Grip Team,
I am facing an issue right now where I can no longer connect to a postgres instance that does no longer contain the original database that the connection was created with. I once had a “restaurant_service” database that I now changed to a “restaurant_backend” database. The existing connection does not seem to get updated and thus refreshes etc. fail.

Judging by the error message and your description, it appears to be related to this issue:

A fix has been delivered in the 2026.2 EAP version. Can you install the latest EAP version separately and give it a go?
If the issue remains, please find the idea.log in Help- Show Log in Files and upload it onto our FTP. Include the upload id in your reply.
