MongoDB v1.24 Does Not Support startSession

I have a MongoDB connection that works… I can see my databases, collections, etc.  I can also run queries properly.  However, if I try to run a query with const session = db.getMongo().startSession(); it returns

TypeError: invokeMember (startSession) on com.mongodb.mongosh.service.JavaServiceProvider failed due to: Unknown identifier: startSession

This same query works in a native mongosh console.

I am on the latest stable com.dbschema.MongoJdbcDriver that's available (v1.24), Java Boot Runtime 25.0.4.  Is this just something that isn't supported by the query console?
