Google Developers Certification plugin is not available in Android Studio Artic Fox

Answered

I want to take the Associate Android Developer Exam but when I search Google Developers Certification plugin, the plugin does not exist. My Android Studio version is:

Android Studio Arctic Fox | 2020.3.1
Build #AI-203.7717.56.2031.7583922, built on July 27, 2021
Runtime version: 11.0.10+0-b96-7249189 amd64
VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by Oracle Corporation
Windows 10 10.0
GC: G1 Young Generation, G1 Old Generation

Is there any solution to this issue?

The plugin is not available in AS 2020.3+ – https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/10899-google-developers-certification/versions.

Please get in touch with the plugin vendor.

The Google Developers Certification plugin is currently not available in Android Studio Artic Fox. This plugin is a valuable tool for developers seeking Google's official certification in Android app development. However, users of Android Studio's Artic Fox version will need to explore alternative methods or resources for certification preparation, as this specific plugin is not accessible within the IDE at this time. https://www.dumpswrap.com/product-detail/hpe6-a85.html

Google Developers Certification Plugin Not Available in Android Studio Arctic Fox

While preparing for the Associate Android Developer (AAD) Certification, I noticed that the Google Developers Certification plugin is no longer available in Android Studio Arctic Fox (2020.3.1) or any of the newer releases. This plugin was previously used to validate and submit certification projects directly from the IDE. However, Google has deprecated this plugin and removed it from the JetBrains Plugin Repository.

Fortunately, the plugin is no longer required to take the exam. Google has updated the submission process to simplify things for candidates. Now, the entire workflow is handled through the Kryterion/Webassessor platform, and project submission is done manually.

Updated Exam Workflow Without the Plugin

Here’s the current process for the Associate Android Developer Exam:

  • Register for the exam via Kryterion/Webassessor.
  • During the exam, you’ll receive instructions and a link to download the starter project.
  • Complete the required tasks in Android Studio using your preferred version (Arctic Fox or newer).
  • Once finished, zip the completed project and upload it through the Kryterion exam interface.
  • There is no need to install or use the deprecated plugin.

This method ensures compatibility with all recent Android Studio versions without relying on deprecated tools.

If you're preparing for the AAD certification, here are a few professional recommendations:

  • 📘 Use Google’s official AAD Study Guide and developer.android.com as your core study resources.
  • 🧪 Focus on building apps that use Jetpack libraries, and practice unit/UI testing.
  • 📝 Use mock tests from Study4Exam to evaluate your readiness under timed conditions.
  • 📁 Practice submitting a zipped project manually to ensure you're comfortable with the submission process.
