./idea.sh only installs intellij temporarily

I am trying to install intellij idea on my pop-os but it's not getting installed. I ran the command ./idea.sh but It opens temporarily and when I close it I need to install it again. Help!

Where do you unpack the IDE? Does it persist on your file system?
