Show file extension for markdown, and show corresponding PDF as a separate file

I have a .md file from which I create a PDF file.  In the PyCharm file browser, this shows up looking like a directory name (without the file extension) that contains the .md and PDF file.  Can I disable this feature, so I see the .md and PDF files as distinct files at their actual position in the directory structure?
