When I create a project from a saved project template, the project is not opened.

Answered

Hi,

I am a student and I make lots of small projects for assignments, so I saved a project as a template to make my life easier. When I create a new project using the template in question on the Welcome Screen, IntelliJ IDEA doesn't open it and the project doesn't show up under recent projects. Instead I have to open the project by clicking "Open" and navigating to the project in the popup.

Last semester I created a different template for a different course and I do not have the issue with last semester's template. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this a bug? It's not a crippling issue, but it is rather annoying.

I am running IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition 2021.2.2

Try creating a new template and update to the current IDE release: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html.

If you have a project template that reproduces the bug in the current IDE release, please report the issue with the exact steps to reproduce at https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/newIssue?project=IDEA.

Thanks for responding quickly. Unfortunately updating did not resolve the issue so I have reported the issue as you suggested.
