Javadoc is automatically hidden for some reason

I'm using IntelliJ's Jetbrains Client (via Jetbrains Gateway). (JetBrains Client 2022.1 Preview)

At some point, I'm unable to view javadocs in the source code unless I perform some action.

For instance, I know javadocs exist between lines 587-596 and can somewhat force the javadocs to show if I start to edit that portion of the code.

But I'd like to able able to view javadocs for each method by default.

Is this part of any feature? Is there a way to turn this off?
