how can i open a new java project from template

have mac,
how can I open a new project? when I try to do so it looks different on my computer.
this is the first window that i see, i cant find the Java logo from the left.

The UI has changed, Java project is created using the New Project option like on your screenshot. You can see that Java language is already selected by default.
