Project view configuration and Meson project

Answered

Hi,

I'm testing the CLion on my Meson project. It consists of several subdirs with sources and the generated ninja script is outside the sources in separated folder named 'build'. When I open the ninja script I can see the structure of the 'build' directory but all the source files are displayed as leaves of 'External Sources' tree. These source file are not displayed in their folders but instead they are thrown into one pile, which is very confusing (see the screenshot).

How to setup the Project view to display the external sources in their folders? I can't find it anywhere in the docs...

Hello!

Meson projects are not supported in CLion yet, unfortunately - https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/CPP-4926/Support-Meson-build-system. Feel free to comment or upvote the issue. See https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/207241135-How-to-follow-YouTrack-issues-and-receive-notifications if you are not familiar with YouTrack.

Currently CLion can work with Meson using compilation database. See https://blog.jetbrains.com/clion/2021/01/working-with-meson-in-clion-using-compilation-db/ for details.
