The yellow update button in the launcher window doesn't work after 2022.2 update.

Answered

When I click "check for updates" the yellow circular button for updating appears in the bottom right corner of the launcher window but is unclickable. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

Hey,

Restart you IDE. I have recently updated mine & it's working pretty well.

Hi Dave. If restarting the IDE doesn't help, please attach a screenshot of the 'Welcome' screen.

Hi,

Restarting the IDE didn't work.

Do you use Toolbox to manage IDE installations & updates?

Do you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet?

Are you able to search for plugins on the Marketplace? 'Plugins' tab on the Welcome screen.

Please upload the idea.log to https://uploads.jetbrains.com and provide the upload id. Help | Show Log in Explorer

Thankyou for your reply, Arina. My answers for your three questions are no, no, and yes, in their respective order. Here is the ID for the idea.log file you asked for me to upload: 2022_09_10_xkM3GPMi42Z2SMgWLciVrH

I tried manually reinstalling the program but it didn't work either, by the way. Only now the yellow update button is green, but still unclickable. The log file is from after the reinstallation.

Thank you.

Do I understand correctly that if you click on the green icon, you do not see the popup that reads "All plugins are up to date..."?

Is the issue reproducible with the following custom plugins disabled and IDE restarted?

Loaded custom plugins: JavaFX Runtime for Plugins (1.0.4), Gluon (2.8.6)

Does it help if you do a 'File | Invalidate Caches' with the first two options selected, and restart the IDE?

Yeah, the yellow circle turned to green after manually installing the newest version of IDEA, but now it turned yellow again, as there is a newer version available. I tried disabling and uninstalling the JavaFX Runtime and Gluon plugins and restarting the IDE but that didn't help. After that I did the File > Invalidate Caches thing with the top two options ticked, and that did the trick. Now the update button works normally again. Thankyou very much for your help!

The problem briefly returned right after reinstalling the two problematic plugins, but the cache invalidation took care of it again.

OK, good to know Dave. If the issue keeps coming back, let me know.

I am having the exact same issue as DeveloperDave and I tried the solution suggested, clicking File | Invalidate Caches' with the first two options selected, and restart the IDE? After I do that and CLion restarts, if I go to Check for Updates... the orange circle with an up arrow appears in the lower-right corner but nothing happens when I click on it.

I have CLion installed on an iMac running Ventura:
