found I can get around the warning by moving the javascript out to its own variable. Not exactly what I was after, but workable.

Doesn't matter. Found the 'Rainglow' plugin: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/10267-rainglow-color-schemes much easier than trying to do it myself, probably better too.
