I'm now on 2021.2.3 Intellij/Webstorm/PyCharm and do not have to invalidate cache almost at all. At least for me the situation has improved.

Configure IntelliJ to build new project with IntelliJ and not Gradle

As you can see on screenshot below, I'm using IntelliJ to compile and run projects. It's faster than Gradle and Composite Builds are not working with Gradle properly anyway. I have to change this...

I have large number of projects and slow VPN connection, and honestly I see totally no reason why I would need to refresh SVN history. Why cannot this be disabled?

same problem here on 2019.3.2.... nothing in log, it just hangs there for hours. Ticket is pointless, because I have no sample, hello word works fine.... Why there is no timeout/wachdog?

ohhhh.... so It's working when I double click again on tab with file name. I was clicking on Project tab ;) Anyway I would expect the same behaviour in both cases.

@Roger I am on 2018.02 on Mac. `Window > Store Current Layout as Default` does not work in this case.
