If you need to stay with CVS, the feature is Pre-Tested Commits. I have only used it with SVN. You'll have to check if that is possible with CVS, though.Even with pre-tested commits, there's no way...

Ah, I missed that. I just looked at __init__.py and thought "ok, file extension is properly associated". I didn't notice that pylx.py is not recognized as Python file. Thanks for pointing that out...

Sorry, no idea. But maybe support can help you? Let me know, if you find out what the reason could be for such behavior is. I'm curious how to fix that.

Hmm, that should be working. Can you check, what is set in your preferences? There's an option for that in the settings dialog under General.

Patch based upgrade only works between two subsequent releases (or builds for the early access program). Thus, it's not possible to use it to upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.1.2. You can vote for IDEABKL-6...

I even filed an issue back then: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-27034 but this really hasn't happened for a long time now.
