Same problem here. On Ubuntu 17.04, already on kernel 4.10.0-35. PHPStorm 2017.2.4

I can also confirm that the original problem is indeed solved - indexing no longer runs on every opening of the projects.

Wow - didn't know I couldn't use Oracle Java, been using it since I swapped to PHPStorm two years ago. Will change and see if that works better.
