Really? I've always copied the ZIP over the old directory. What else is the purpose of the ZIP file?

I (and others) have listed this before. But, the short answer is to address the long list of outstanding bugs; work on performance/memory requirements; etc.

Even though I've complained a lot recently, I want to say that IDEA is the best Java IDE available today. It has enhanced my working life immeasurably.
