Currently, there's nothing much you can do about that, unfortunately. The issue posted by Elena is the key - please vote if you haven't done this yet.

Let's try to reproduce this on an empty project. Please create one, set the line separator to \n, restart PhpStorm and create a couple of files. Does it still switch unexpectedly?

For some reason you are obviously launching PhpStorm under Oracle JDK.Could you please download IntelliJ JDK and try using it? As for the desktop entry, you can create it by Tools | Create Desktop ...

Please open the data source properties and set "Resolve unqualified properties" to this DB on the Options tab.
