I can reproduce this only when using bash.exe, cmd.exe shows the colors OK: Does it look badly for you when Terminal is using cmd.exe?

Then just open the Terminal tool window (Alt+F12 by default), run the command from there, and use "echo $?" to get its error code.

Do you mean in Terminal, or via code?If in Terminal, you can use "echo $?" to get the last command error code.
