@Joerg I came across this driver a few days ago, after someone proposed it as a solution to the external 4k problem. But after reading the specs I wasn't convinced to install it. I will make a back...

The official Nvidia page for that driver only lists beta support for older MacBooks (2012, 2013) and doesn't list the 750M in the supported products: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.as...

If you have a mid 2014 MBP, you have a GeForce GT 750M chipset. And there are no new Nvidia drivers for that chipset and OSX. The newest Nvidia drivers are for Mac Pro users custom Nvidia cards.

The second issue doesn't seem to have anything to do with PHPStorm... Compass settings (Settings/Compass Support) are only used for resolving Compass imports in code and aren't related to file watc...
