Trash can icon missing in Debug mode

I just upgraded to 2023.1 and when starting the project in debug mode, I don't have the trash can and I can't clear the console. Also I don't get the check mark that the app has started, however that is clearly the case:

Right-clicking anywhere in the console output area will get you the context menu with the "Clear All" action.
