I have the exact same problem I installed the plugin and it is there but I get the error that no interpreter has been selected. When I go to select it, I have no clue where to look on my machine for the R file nor do I know what the executable name is on a Mac.
Same here but for Windows. Glad to see people could answer this in the last 2 years... Is this worth giving up on and uninstalling the broken software? I saw another post online saying to go to preferences and look in there but my community version has no preferences on the top menu - unless it's within something, somewhere? I have no idea what I'm meant to be doing and the lack of help online, lack of software help and lack of answers are all irritating. Seems like I'm flogging a dead horse?

Just in case people still have this problem and end up here.
On Intellij, go to Settings -> Languages & Frameworks -> R Language and insert the path to your R binary.
