PhpStorm does not have write access to private/var/folders

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade to 2017.1.2 and I get a message that PhpStorm does not have write access to private/var/folders/_q/........./d/PhpStorm.app/Contents. Please run it by a privileged user to update.
I am administrator of my machine, so I do not understand what to do. I am on Mac.

That's quite unlikely, but you could you please if there's everything alright with free space on the drive?
If so, could you please remove the whole PhpStorm.app folder and try to update again?
Maybe there was some issue with inherited permissions.
Hi,
I have no space problem on that computer. Thank you for the suggestion. I just uploaded the APP and dragged it into the Application folder. No need to erase the previous installation. Everything is working fine now.
