Strange behavior with strings

Hi there,

Very weird behaviour -- I get single double quote if I do something like that in my projects.

Please try with ALL custom plugins disabled.

Please also share your idea.log (Help | Show Log in XX). But before that -- please try "File | Invalidate Caches..." and restart IDE if you have not tried it yet.

I tried to disable all plugins and get the same problem.

I see nothing unusual in the log. In fact -- you do not seem even have any custom plugins at all -- only bundled ones (accordingly to what I see in your log and comparing it to mine).

I may only suggest this:

1) Restart computer (yeah .. even if it's a Mac)

2) Uninstall and and install PhpStorm again from full installer (especially if your current version was installed by upgrading via patch). All settings/preferences should remain unchanged.

I originally thought it was some misbehaving plugin. But right now (the fact that you do not seem to have any of them and nothing interesting in the log) -- no ideas.

Are you on OS X? What layout are you using? Please try "ABC Extended".

Mac OS, yes. Layout? Do you mean php file?) I try type "ABC Extended" But get 

And when press cmd+c to copy it just disappear left only "" instead )) I am going crazy with it!!! )))) 

Layout: I mean in OS settings: Keyboard Preferences > Input Sources. Please try to add "ABC" layout.

By the way, how did you type Ä symbol? Are you using some German/Czech-like keyboard layout?

Wow. I suppose it because keyboard, I used "USA - international PC" on ABC the problem disappear.

It is strange, because in other editors keyboard worked fine...

There quite some issues with USA - international PC layout here and there, e.g.: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-113133, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-59679 & https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-170372.

So yeah, switching to ABC should help in general.
