Installation to writing 1st query

Hello DataGrip Community,

I am too new to using IDE's. I have a decent knowledge of database queries and after a research I found DataGrip a promising Software.

However, after installation I'm stuck if what to do.

I am unable to create or connect to Generic SQL and MySQL or any of the Listed Drivers.

I am looking forward to a tutorial where one is showing after installation what settings to be done in order to write your first query.

Are there any pre-requisites like installing xampp or any other additional software ?

I have installed JDK 8.

So far I was using SQL+ at my university I tried using DataGrip at home but failed.

Please Help. I would be grateful to you.
