Webstorm can't write to ftp server but FileZilla can

I am trying to setup ftp deployment in my project but I can't get write access to the ftp server. I'm certain the user has the correct permissions, because I'm able to upload with FileZilla to this server on the same user; but Webstorm keeps getting a "553 Could not create file."
