CLion double shift search cursor

When you hit double shift to search and start typing your cursor is invalid so the text goes nowhere. When you double shift search your cursor should be in the search box so you don't need to move over and click in the text box to begin typing. I believe this broke on the upgrade to 2017.2.

I've been having this problem recently. If anyone has a solution that doesn't involve using the mouse I'd love know about it.
