Frequent InteliJ Freezes and then Crashes

Hello,

I decided to wait a day or so before posting this just to see if it passes, however that has not happened.

InteliJ regularly crashes when selecting text, copying, pasting etc.

Now it has gotten to the point when I do nearly anything the IDE just crashes.

I have to go into Task Manager to close the application.

If anybody knows what is going on that would help.
