How can I set dolphin as the default file manager to open in linux?

It chooses the xdg-mime default.

So you if want to change it, you have to change it there. So for example, you want to change from "Files.desktop" to "caja.desktop"

xdg-mime default caja.desktop inode/directory application/x-gnome-saved-search

Same thing for dolphin.desktop. After you do that, restart intelliJ and you'll see instead of "Show in Files" it will say "Show in Caja"
