After latest update, now cannot type brackets in the terminal

After installing the latest update, when launching `python manage.py shell` (IPython is being automatically loaded as the Python console to-go) I just cannot type brackets (neither [ nor ]).

Note that I am talking about the embedded terminal and NOT the Python Console. Need to clarify because even mods seem to get confused about the difference (or think that we users are confused).
