IntelliJ IDE Hangs - Repeatedly, on OSX

One thing I noticed... when I launch it, I get the error  - Invalid Git roots - this makes sense, since I recently re-organized my GIT. But, when I try and click "configure", then entire thing hangs.. time for a "force quit"

(including the thread dump directories).

I am having a terrible time.. I recently finished evaluating IntelliJ
and paid for a license.. now, it's become nearly unusable.

Today I had an issue where the IDE stopped responding. What I mean is
that I could not do anything useful, but the windows were still
working in that I could drag them around, even open a few menus, but I
could not make anything useful happen. The application was not listed
as "not responding", but I could not close any widows, I could not
quit using the normal means, and I coudl not make anything else
happen.

I force-quit IntelliJ since there was no other option. Since then, I
have had to quit or force quit the application 20 times - and that is
NOT an exageration. I have sometimes had to launch it and quit 3 or 4
times IN A ROW. When it does respond, it works for a llittle while,
then as soon as I do something, (random things), it dies again, same
response.

I finally started deleting modules from the project and tried to
re-initialize them but then the GIT intergration wasn't working.. I
have wasted about 6 hours trying to resolve this, getting some amount
of work done, but mostly working on getting IntelliJ to work.. I
didn't buy this tool to spend tons of time debugging it...

This is ridiculous!! Anyone ever experience this behavior?? Any help??
