IntelliJ vs. Eclipse

I have used intellij and eclipse now and IMHO they are both really good IDE's. They seem to share many features like refactoring, code inspections ect.
I have only used eclipse a couple of times, I primarily use intellij. So here is my question(s)
What is it about intellij that makes it a better IDE. Please post "REAL" answers/features not "I don't like their interface"
What is it about eclipse that makes it a better IDE. To think that any single IDE truely dominates another in every way is probably not realistic.
I also don't want to start a feature request thread but I would like to see what features people are using in each that I may be missing.

I was not kidding. I like a lot the double-click-on-tab-maximizes-editor
feature that eclipse has. The space allocated to borders looked better
in Eclipse than idea at the time of posting.
As I said in my post, though, I mostly use IDEA (and I've been on the
EAP since before 2.0 I think ...) because overall it's way better (esp.
the editor)

I can't speak to whether eclipse "wins" on the screen real-estate issue, but I do know that I consistently have problems with IDEA's use of screen real-estate.
In particular, I find that Vertical editor real-estate is my most valuable commodity, so I have the debug, find usages, etc tabs come up on the right and left (depending). Unfortunately, some of these modes of operation are very difficult to run vertically. I end up with wasted space at the bottom, and I am squeezed for horizontal space at the top.
It would be useful to be able to stack tabs (Have a tab take but half the screen, so I could have both a find usages, and a debug tab taking the same amount of horizonal space. This would give more space to the editor.
...Perhaps I should Write something up on this.

That IDEA does not leave room for the resize widget in the bottom right

I do like the docking behavior IDEA uses, so there are some screen real
estate bennies to it, but that one missing feature is a pain. (JB
considers it an Apple bug, Apple considers it a JB bug, so I suspect it
will never be fixed.)
