3281 memory leak
I usually leave idea up overnight. Since 3281, there is an "out of memory" warning waiting for me every morning. I don't run anything at night, so I'm guessing it must be some background process. I'll try and get a mem snapshot next time.

Yep, the snapshot will help indeed, thanks.

Hey Maxim,
I'm also seeing some strange memory behavior when IDEA is 'idling': the used
memory number keeps growing up at a rate of approximately 1 meg per two
seconds until it gets garbage collected and the cycle starts over again.
For example right now with two projects opened, IDEA is in the background
(this message is foreground) and I can see the memory cycle between "134 of
178M" and "145 of 178M". It never stops.
I've taken a memory snapshot at 134M and one at 144M. Do you want those and
if so, where do you want them? Should I put it in Jira? (This is with build
#3290)
(yesterday I had more projects open with #3281 and the cycling rate was
faster -- about 1M/s -- but it has never crashed overnight)
Vince.
Hi Vince,
do you have JIRA plugin installed? As the matter of fact I had the same symphtoms
on my development machine and profiling shown JIRA plugin excessively loads
GC when parsing issues XML with SAXBuilder so young generation is overflown.
Uninstalling the plugin indeed helped.

Nope, I don't have the Jira plugin installed. And even after IDEA has been
idling for hours, the memory cycle is still going on (although it seems to
be slowly leaking.. for example now it's cycling between 137M and 147M as
opposed to 134/145 as reported an hour ago).
Vince.
Did you upgraded to 3290 already? There were some leaks fixed there as well.

Yep, I'm running #3290 right now and have been seeing the behavior all
morning.
Note that I'm also seeing this on a barebone #3290 with no custom plugin.
I don't qualify this as a problem because it obviously doesn't impact my
work at all but I figured you'd be interested in something like that.
Vince.
Huh, now we'd only manage to reproduce this on our machines...
