Perforce Submit File does nothing?

When I try to submit a file using Perforce, the comment dialog comes up,
I type a comment and press OK, the dialog goes away, but nothing else
happens--no Perforce operation is attempted by IDEA and the file is not
committed to the repository. Checking out files works correctly.

I haven't seen any mention of this problem by others here, and a quick
search in Tracker and JIRA didn't turn up any related bug reports. Is
this be some sort of configuration problem? The Plugin Manager shows
that I have version 1.0.1 of PerforceDirectPlugin installed, which is
apparently how the Perforce integration component reports itself, since
if I remove this plugin, the IDEA_HOME/plugins/PerforceIntegration is
removed.
