Structure View blank after closing tab group

This is still happening in 3117--I've noticed it, but not reported it yet.

I've noticed another problem that manifests itself when a split is
closed: There is an unmotivated change in the active table in the
surviving pane. Do this: Open two files in the IDE and click on the
leftmost tab to make that file visible. Create a vertical split and note
that the same file remains frontmost in the original pane. Close the
lower pane ("Close all"). Now the OTHER file is frontmost.

I haven't looked yet to see if there's a report of this one.
