815: Unable to update Application Settings

I untar'd the EAP into /usr/java/idea-815 as root, and run it as mark, 815
gives errors saying "Unable to update Application Settings", after doing a
kill -9 to quit the application ( can't quite as it cant write settings ),
I chmod -R a+rw * in the 815 directory and everything seems fine.

Is 815 now updating system settings in the application directory again?
