PhpStorm, debug and SimpleXMLElement

I'm curious as to whether I'm missing something or doing something wrong. It appears that it is still not possible to inspect a SimpleXMLElement in debug without aborting. If it's not me, and that is still the case (as it appears to be in v8.0.1), when will it be fixed?
