SQL Query Plugin (aka ks-sql) - suggested enhancements
Stefan,
Excellent plugin. I use it frequently and have a couple of suggested
enhancements:
- Provide an option to save passwords. I know it is probably not secure,
but neither are the property or xml files that contain the passwords used by
many applications to access the DB.
- When viewing tables within a schema, prepend the schema to the table name
in the SQL pasted into the SQL Query from the context menu.
".
Thanks again for a great plugin.

And an entry in the DB list for Postgresql. Right now I use Other, but
it would be nice to just have one for Postgres.
Thanks :)))

Hi Tim,
Thanks for your suggestions. There is already an option to save the passwords into
the workspace (Properties\Miscellaneous\Security). I will see what I can do about the other
suggestions.
Bye,
Stefan

I could add an entry for Postgresql but I need some information about the driver:
- Class name
- URL format
- Properties and possible values

Stefan,
is there any chance of having the plugin load driver classes from a location
I specify, instead of requiring them to be in the ]]>/lib directory?
Oh, and... thanks for a great plugin!
Vil.

Thanks Stefan,
I had completely overlooked the tabs on the properties dialog. I didn't
expect plugin settings to be set by clicking on an icon who's tool tip says
"Edit database connections." It would be much more intuitive and consistant
with the rest of IDEA if the whole properties dialog was moved into the IDEA
settings dialog where most plugin settings are. I've never written an IDEA
plugin, but I assume that this is easily supported by the 4.0 API.
One more thing, It would be nice if there was a way to see a list of all
current DB connections and perhaps some simple state information.
Thanks again,
Tim
