Enable Spellcheck for Velocity Templates

I use velocity templates to generate html pages for my website, and I've enjoyed the support for those templates in Intellij.

Yet, Intellij does not appear to spell-check anything in .vm files — neither code nor string literals nor plaintext.

I've searched the forum here, and I've spent some time reading about the spelling settings, but to no avail.

Is it possible to enable it somehow?  Even if I had to make a plugin or something?


I'm using Intellij IDEA Ultimate 14.1.2.
