Sorting the Edit Configuration List
When I create a new Module, Artifact etc, it joins a list of alphabetically sorted modules or artifects in the project.
I have a LOT of modules in my project and I create a new Edit Configuration each time I create a new module.
However, it sorts there in chronological order. Is there any way to have these configurations sorted alphabetically in the list (barring rearranging the whole lot manually)?

Hello.
Am I correct that you're talking about Run/Debug Configurations dialog? Please check Move Up / Move Down buttons on its toolbar, they should move configurations.

I am aware that you can rearrange these, but I was hoping of some way that would just sort them in one go.
I have a LOT of configurations made already, it would be a big job to sort them now!

Is there a way to order them permanently? I ordered them tens if not hundreds of times, and every time I get them in random order after I change branches. The relevant runConfigurations (but only them, aka .idea/runConfigurations/*) are in git. Any idea why every time they get scrambled?
