IntelliJ IDEA 7.0 has been released

Hello everyone,

We are happy to announce that we have just released the final version of
IntelliJ IDEA 7.0. As always, this release wouldn't be possible without all
the help and feedback that we've received from the members of our community
and the EAP program. We express our most sincere thanks to everyone who has
participated in the exciting journey to this version - and we'll hope that
you'll go along with us further. :)

This time we have some special treats for some of the most active EAP members
- so, please, hold off buying your personal license upgrades for a couple
of days. :)

Hello Gustavo,

Congratulations folks! Great job!

Just a quick comment. The website download page says Idea version
6.0.6, and I think it should say 7.0
(http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html).

Please press Refresh.

May be the Expires headers were too much in the future ... I would say when site is about to be upgraded - the Expires headers may be tuned to become "shorter" so that when the day comes - all browsers will be forced to fetch a new version without user having to Refresh manually.

7.0 does that too, but you can re-enable the error popup by editing
idea.properties.

how does one do that on MacOSX?
The idea.properties file located in the bin directory of the installation does
not seem to be the right place, because it contains values like this:

  1. path to IDEA config folder. Make sure you're using forward slashes

idea.config.path=${user.home}/.IntelliJIdea70/config

Which is obviously not used on my system. It uses
${user.home}/Library/Preferences/IntelliJIdea70
instead. But i cannot find where this is set.

Thanks & ciao,
Stephan.

Those idea.*.path are overriden in Contents/Info.plist. It's ok though to enable error popups in idea.properties

Hi Randall,

If you were one of the most active EAP members, you would received email from JetBrains ;)

Although I'm not Randall...

I've got emails, but I assumed they were plain release announcements and
deleted them a second later ...

Yes, well I really didn't expect anything (though I think I was pretty helpful to Eugene V. on JetGroovy), but you should have notified the list when those letters went out, right?

Hmm,

missed that one, too. Or maybe I have not been active enough?
