BTW, I have a question here. Compliant XMPP 1.0 servers (like google talk or wildfire) do not require using a dedicated SSL port. Instead, they use TLS over generic connection, and TLS way is already supported by IDEtalk.
Do you really need legacy SSL connections support?

Old jabberd installations do not support TLS and yet they are still quite common... I believe that some users would need SSL.
Is anyone using jabber over SSL?
I am from my normal Jabber clients...

We use an old jabber server... I don't think we have the option of updating it to something better any time soon... so yes.
