I'm getting soft in my old age! What's funny is that I started off not being that angry, but as I remembered all the bugs I'm taking for granted, I got more and more agitated ;)

Still, desperately looking forward to that entry being made 'redundant' and being annoyed at not having enough negative stuff to write about!

Hani is somewhat right. This EAP is the most painful I've been through. Still, I'm bravely resisting the urge to go back to Pallada so I can find (and report) more bugs.

The present is blight, but I hope there's a shiny future ahead of us :)

I was discussing this with some people that also use IntelliJ and
participate in the EAP. They agreed that this has been the most buggy EAP so
far. However, I don't compain as I know they moved to a new JDK major
revision and are probably doing some internal refactoring for this. I know a
lot of internal stuff had to be re-written for JSP support which is the
thing I am MOST excited for in this release.

IDEA has formatter deep inside of core and rewriting it is not easy task and cannot be painless. But JB decide to do it for support new Languages API and formatting in more file types. Do you suggest use 2 formatters to make EAP more stable? It's bad idea I think, cause in this case everyone would disable it :) So wait a little and all be ok!

We know, and thaht's the "brighter future" part of my first post is all about. I'm not exactly complaining about the current state of EAP, just noticing that those who survive this cycle will be true heroes.

Yup, I agree. I totally recognize the awesome stuff they are doing so I
completely understand the instability and I think it was the right choice.

in St. Peterburg will delete it further. ;)

He sure does have a point. You have to use some extensive exaggeration
filtering, though. Speed for example has been a concern for quite some
time now. Exceptions are part of the admission price for EAP.
