cvs plugin edit NOT working in 4.0

I just downloaded the build #1162 (aka 4.0). When I try to checkout a file from cvs by trying to edit the file, it behaves as if the file was checked out but never checks the file out. This used to work fine in 1156. Am I the only one seeing this problem?

I opened a topic in the plugins forum but it did not go anywhere.
