status of running on 64-bit JVM's on Linux

What is the status of IntelliJ IDEA's support for running on a 64-bit JVM? I've found a fair number of references to people who have done it when searching the forums. However, it seems to require some hacking, and the four .so files included with IntelluiJ 7.0.3 are all 32-bit.
