It should not have happened in first place .. but anyway: launch v9 (if you still have it installed), then use "File | Export Settings..." and specify what you want to export. Then in v10 use "File | Import Settings..."
If you have unisnatlled v9 already -- you can just copy files across while IDE is closed.
Thanks Andriy, I just stumbled accross that link and was writing an answer to this post! Copying across the tempaltes subfolder worked fine - not sure why I didn't happen in the first place though.
