Frequency of New Keys - This one expires Nov 3

I am just curious how frequent new keys are released.
The current one expires November 3. That's in um 2 or
3 days depending on if it expires on the 3 or after
the 3 is done. When will a new key be published?

Looks like you will have to bite the bullet and buy the software now, then you don't have to worry about temporary keys.

Yes, I am intending on buying it, it's awsome software at a good price compared to other Java IDE's but I came into using it with the EAP and really don't see the sense of buying version 2.6 and loosing functionality. When 3.0 comes out you can bet that I'll be the first to purchase it, but purchasing at this point does not quite make sense to me.

Why doesn't it make sense? You get free upgrades for at least 8 months, and they key you get enables you to use the 3.0 product during EAP and then when it get's released.

What have you got to lose by buying now, especially given the it is due to be released very soon.

Ah, now that makes sense. I was not aware that it worked like that. If my 2.6 key will enable 3.0 EAP then all is cool.

Yes it certainly does work like that, I've been using my 2.6 key for many months this way, and it has always worked fine.

Looks like 2.6 keys with Ariadna expire on 1st Jan 2003 starting with build 670 - so I'd hold off making any purchases until they announce the upgrade path.
